Washington Head Coach Takes Blame for Leaving Jayden Daniels in Contest Before Significant Injury

Washington Commanders leader Coach Quinn has admitted he shares some the blame for a major injury to the squad’s signal-caller, Jayden Daniels.

Particulars of the Harm and Situation

Daniels, who enjoyed one of the greatest first-year performances in history the previous year, suffered a displaced elbow joint in Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Although Daniels throws with his right arm, the issue has placed his campaign uncertain. The condition was significant enough that the television broadcast did not show repeats and multiple athletes looked away as he was treated by team doctors.

Backlash and Leader’s Response

Quinn came under scrutiny as many believed Daniels should not have been on the field in the first place. The injury happened in the fourth quarter with the Washington behind 38-7, rendering a comeback unlikely. It is common in these circumstances for clubs to put in their backup quarterback to avoid injuries to their starter.

“I understand. I’ve been thinking about it constantly, too, and, wow, I missed it,” he remarked of his decision to keep Daniels in the game. “That is 100% on me.”

Fallout and Team Outlook

Marcus Mariota will be the team’s primary QB going forward, but he will lead a team in disarray. Following reaching the NFC championship game last season thanks to the rookie’s excellence, the team have struggled this season. They also lost defensive back Lattimore (torn ACL) and pass-catcher Luke McCaffrey (collarbone fracture) on Sunday, and have a host of other starters on injured reserve. The Washington squad are 3-6 so far, and it would require a huge reversal for the club to make the postseason.
